I want to do my first track day and been told that Lyddon near Dover is a good first timer track. I will be using my Abarth 500 rather than the M5 and i believe that sessions start from £20 for 15 mins.
To be honest 2 sessions will be enough for me.

Anyone got any hints and tips !

Lydden Hill track days can be more like a test day. I'll give them their due, though, they do split the cars into groups so you're all quite evenly matched. But from what I remember there are no strict rules on overtaking...so yes, watch your mirrors!

If you're local to the Kent area, I recommend a novice day at Brands Hatch (or any other MSV circuit). Club MSV are really, really accommodating and it's perfect if it's your first track day. If you don't want to spend too long on the track, maybe go for an evening session...?

Either way, Lydden may be good once you've done a couple of track days and got the feel for them a bit.

lydden is the most technical track I have driven, so little time to think about the next bend, little run off and hard on tyres. Would go for Brands as a first timer.

I did my first day there, and really enjoyed it. Yes they are not that strict on overtaking but as long as you keep your eyes on mirror and you will be fine.

Get some instruction off Bill Richards as well (completly free) really builds your confidence.
