Help - wheel offset confusion

I have to replace some spare wheels that have been stolen for my 1997 E36 328i Coupe track car.
It is heavily modified with big brakes and uprated suspension. The wheels are 18" x 8J with an ET offset of 38.
From what I understand my best option are 18" E46 M3 wheels as long as they have a 38 offset.
Does this sound correct?
They don't have to be new as they will only be for wet weather use and therefore only used occasionally.
Does anyone have any going cheap please?
