Hi all, I have got round to registering the voucher for my Aston drive.

I've done a search and have a good idea of what to expect from the day (have done Palmersport and Rockingham in the past) and this will be ntohing like that! But it was a present and I get todrive an Aston.

What I need help with is where to have the drive. I can travel to any of the locations but which one would you go for?

Kenilworth
Elvington
Stratford upon Avon
Bruntingthorpe
Loughborough

Somewhere nice to go for lunch afterwards to say thanks you to the o/h would be good too!

Thanks in advance.

Brunt would be my choice, the chance to get an Aston to 150+ cool

If you have the option take the Vantage rather than the DB9.

Cheers Steve H,

Anyone else driven the other circuits? From what I can gather, Kenilworth is pretty ropey and quite short.

Loughborough (Prestwold) is pretty good unless they still have 'Wayne' as an instructor; avoid him & the rest is fine.

Cheers Rovinghawk, just had a look and that seems to get positive reviews all round

I'm guessing this is with Drivers Dream Days/Everyman Racing. I'd definitely go for Bruntingthorpe, but our next event there isn't until October, otherwise Loughborough (Prestwold Hall) is a good shout, if quite a basic circuit. Prodrive Kenilworth is IMO a great little track, but not very speed oriented, and quite bumpy.

Thanks TAHodgson.

Think I will go for Brunters then. Just out of interest can I request the vantage rather than the DB9 or is it pot luck on the day?

Aren't 6th Gear running out of Brunt now as well?

eta You may be able to ask for the Vantage when you book but if you ask on the day it it's usually an easy swap as the uninformed punters will generally all want to drive the DB9 as it's got a bigger engine, they don't seem to care that it won't turn into a corner without three days notice in writing irked

I drove a 996 turbo at Bruntingthorpe and a 997 C2 at Prestwold last year. Both well run days, but I think I would choose Bruntingthorpe purely because on the last lap you are instructed to go wide of the cones and do a top speed run. I managed 155 in the turbo.

I'm fairly sure you can change on the day, as Steve H said, a Vantage drive is considered a 'downgrade' from the DB9, although I personally think it's a nicer drive. But I don't really deal with that side of things, so don't really want to give you some uninformed advice. I'd say best thing to do, is when phoning to confirm venue/date, enquire about it, and do what the person on the end of the phone says.

Cheers
