Just taken a look at the Ring timetable and ive seen its open pretty much every day in November, so im thinking of a last minute end of year weekend jaunt

Bit of a stupid question but how bad does the weather get there in November? Am i likely to find the tracks under 2ft of snow upon arrival?

It will always be a gamble between October & April and I've had snow and/or ice in both of these months. The 'Ring was closed despite it claiming to be open on the website.

If you do go, don't forget winter tyres/chains/socks, as if you get caught out by the police in the hills when there's snow/ice without them you may also get a €40-€80 fine.

I carry a 4 wheel set of snow-socks for emergency use as they can be fitted/removed quickly.

If I were you I'd leave November open and keep your eye on the weather. If it's looking good for a block of a couple of days then get in the car and go last minute. There is bound to be hotels that can take a booking with no notice at this time of year.

Off there 5th to 7th of Nov. Been a couple of times early Dec before, first time the weather was fine, second it was closed to snow. Always a bit of a gamble that time of year, not really bothered though as on hols and is a stop off on the way home.

At least it will be quiet laugh

I'm here now, was 3degrees last night, icy and foggy this morning but wonderful now. I'd say early November will be pretty good.

spot on i always use accuweather.com world weather and put in nurburg germany.the forecast has been excellent all year upto 3/4 days in front but dont bother with the week or 15 day forecasts.the weather at the moment looks good for the next week so it might be a possibility of a last trip for the year

Just back myself - weather was brill, warm and sunny. Not too busy on the track either, or the car park. Added bonus was the gp circuit was open for tf as well. Best trip I've had for ages!

An old 4 door e30 325i. Lhd, blue - bit scruffy, had it years. Came from the south of France so no rot but plenty of French parking dinks.

Apart from the brakes being a little lacking it was great fun - in fact I enjoyed driving it more than the s2000 I took on the last trip!

Had a good run round with a couple of other e30's. A caged, German reg one and a stripped out Dutch one in the same colour - the Dutch guy appeared quite excited when I came past him......

I must check my pictures smile, We had my Blue E36 and a Red E39 touring on Irish plates + a 4 door E36 M3 on northern Irish plates in our convoy. The only thing I manged to pass was an Orange omega estate lol. Serious track and an even better drive over

I was there on Sunday (6th) and it was brilliant. Quiet, empty car park, sunny, 18'C. Monday was closed all day though due to the fog not lifting. That's the Eiffel region for you.
