Organised another one of these practice / test days on Tuesday and had a really good session, would just like a few more cars if possible. Basically I can hire the track for the afternoon and we split the cost between the number of cars, aiming to do it for less than £50 each for a 3 hour session. We run 3 laps at a time and you can be timed if you're taking it seriously! Personally I find it a lot of fun driving my 180sx 'properly' without having the expense of a full track day (wear and tear is kept to a minimum because you are only driving hard for shorts bursts).
Going to try and do a couple over winter if I can get the interest, if it snows and we can't use the track we don't have to pay which seems very fair. Great for novices too, or if you have never been on a track day, as there is only one car at a time, relatively low speeds and good run offs.
Curborough is located just off the A38 about 15 miles south of Derby and the sessions will either be on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
Let me know if you are seriously interested on chris.goodall@etapp.com and I'll add you to my mailing list.

Hi there,

Yes, definitely interested in this if we can get it worked out. Its only 15 mins from my house, and would be good to give the Clio a run before Christmas.

Regards

Tim

Yeah will do, just mail me your details so I can do an invite cos have to run it as a private test day (gates locked), not an open to the public session. It's because we would be a group rather than an official club. Know it's only a technicality, but as my name is going on the insurance docs I want to play by the rules... Going to ring up tomorrow and sort a date, aiming for early December. Glad we got so much interest, wish I'd thought of PH earlier!

I would be up for this live in Walsall when not at university so it's nearby. Trouble is I only have a 1.4 ZR so would I just look like a tt turning up in that to a trackday?

December'd be far too early for me, although I could fetch the 1.4 instead - you guys don't mind me taking 6 hours to get down the straight do you?

IMO it doesn't really matter what people bring, if people want to look at exotics they can go to the MPH show etc, for me it's the atmosphere of like-minded people doing something they enjoy!

Ok all booked, wed 7th Dec, 12 - 3, will send out invite email tomorrow to PH people, please get in touch first on chris.goodall@etapp.com if you want to come, as gates will have to be locked & there will be a limit of 10 cars to get the best use out of the track time. Fingers crossed for some winter sun! Or anything other than snow....
And if you can't make this one I'd like to do them every 6 weeks or so after winter...
