What's Blyton Park like?

I'm tempted with this track as it has a high noise limit (might scrape a pass with a bung!) and seems good value - just wondered what the run offs are like etc and will you get black flagged for 'excessive oversteer'?!

I've been a couple of times and enjoyed it. Good run-offs, there's only one bit of armco but you will get told off for going round corners sideways.

It is a good circuit. Not as straightforward as it initially seems and a good mix of corners. Richard who owns the circuit normally runs the days and is only really concerned if your driving has the chance of causing you, or, more importantly, somebody else danger. Would definitely recommend it.

Never had a problem with getting told off for sideways shenanigans and with all that run off it would be rude not to!
Should of been there tomorrow but unfortunately it was cancelled yesterday due to poor attendance, bit pissed off really as I've taxed the car (was sorn for the winter) and taken a day off work.
Refund doesnt really cover it when it's that shorter notice

Still rant over it's a cracking track and thats why I'm so gutted that I'm not going to be there tomorrow.

Last time I was there a couple of lads in a sierra got blacked and told to cool it. They took it on board though. TBH, they deserved it as they were a bit OTT. As the owner says, if you want to go sideways go on a drift day.

Yeah think that is fair enough, there's a big difference between a bit of oversteer coming out of a corner and going in sideways as a drifter would!
Personally prefer track driving to drifting, or attempting to drift, though this may be because I've done a bit more of the former.
The Santa Pod drift days are good fun if that's what you want

The track was marked out onto the exisitng (runway) surfacing and then planed out. The new tarmac was then laid in this planed area, so you have a new grippy course laid in a larger older tarmac which is expansive. As a result 'going off' means that you leave the new surfacing and move onto the older tarmac, but you still have a long way to go before you get to the scenery.

I was there last Saturday and can confirm the above...the freshly laid "track" is very nice and smooth and then the old track provides plenty of run off....which I made full use of!

They seemed pretty relaxed about a bit of oversteer, and only black flagged people who were clearly deliberately drifting round certain corners. And then they went straight back out and did it again!

Good value for money, very well laid out, hard on brakes to big stops from 3 figure speeds, smooth & grippy tarmac very friendly atmosphere, recommended.

Noise, as long as your not silly loud you will be fine, my car is 105 with a bung in, had no trouble running without.

Had a good day there few months back with a few on here, really enjoyed it

but travelling with the A46 build from Leicester is a pain in the arse until they finish it next summer 2012

then i'll go a few more times

give it a go some good deals about Javelin are normally cheap
