best rwd experience? training
Discussion
fancying some extra winter practise before the next trackday season. what i could do with is something specific rwd experience, in something that will power oversteer.
any suggestions? was thinking about these ice driving holidays but having looked at the pricing its not exactly cheap or plentiful.
anything available in the uk where you can specifically play with the throttle and practise your car control, even if on low grip surface etc?
Have done the rockingham skid pan which was good but dont have a rwd road car so using my own is out of the window at the mo, needs to be somewhere with rwd vehicle provided and coaches who will allow/encourage you to push.

tbh done that already with an mx5, and then got shut to get my current track car. was thinking if anyone had done a proper rwd control course anywhere. seen a skid car facility at manby motorplex using rwd cars with cradle, but rang them for a deeper chat and they didnt call back when message left. the ice driving looked greatbut it will work out about 2k per time to go and get coaching.
current car is mid engined and 450-500bhp rwd, very quick and a bit lairy , need some practise time at lower speed/less grip.

CAT Driver Training based at Millbrook and Bruntingthorpe offer grip limit courses. They have Caterhams and a 986 Boxster, but you can opt to do it your own car.
