Rockingham dual layout run simultaneously?

Just a thought. I know Rockingham National & The Oval are effectively separate circuits and I remember they mentioned somewhere that both could be run at the same time. Has anyone done it in practice ? Would it not make good economical sense for TDOs to have 2 circuits running at the same time, but one briefing, etc.

Not sure if they've ever done it but recently I've only seen a variation of the international sports car layout being used. Imagine how many marshals would be required to operate both simulataneously!

I don't think they ever rent out the oval for track day use. Noise/planning permissions I think.

Ah that's a shame, although I am more interested in the National layout. BTW, has LOT given it up completely?

BaT are on the national circuit 17th July 2012. Also waiting for 2 more (weekday) national circuit dates once our calendar settles.

Why on earth would you want to do a trackday on the oval?

Can't think of anything more boring or likely to knacker your car.

OP, why are you so keen on the National circuit? Do you compete in a series which uses it?

Internationl Long is surely best from a simple VfM perspective?

National Circuit actually flows much better than the International Circuits do. I't s a much less compromised layout. The international circuit is a jack-of-all-trades configuration which suits neither power cars or lightweight cars perfectly. The National circuit is perfect for the lightweight, good handling cars like Elises, Caterhams etc

Ironically, had it been built in isolation, the National Circuit would probably have made Rockingham a more popular venue. Clearly the finances of running the International Circuit dictate the availability of trackdays on both layouts though - both for the owners and the TDO's. I can't imagine there will ever be a National Circuit track day at weekend for that reason.

Indeed the National Circuit is lots better as a whole, there is no need for power to enjoy it but at the same time big heavy cars will do well there as well as it's so flowing - that's my experience.
