Thinking of going to my first trackday
Discussion
Firstly as this is my first post... Hello everyone!
I've been thinking of doing a track day for a while and was planning to wait until I could afford a suitable car (was thinking an MX5). However I'm getting impatient and am thinking of doing one in my very un-track worthy 1.2 Renault Twingo that I use for the daily commute. Have had a quick look around and found this trackday, thought it looked quite interesting as it was a sprint style course rather than a circuit and was pretty cheap for a first time...

I've just got a couple of questions that hopefully someone can help with!
- Has anyone been to this track day or one of this style before? Is it any good for a first-timer like me?
- Is it wise to take the Twingo (it's not exactly meant for the track!) or would I be better of waiting unitl I can afford something a little more suitable?
Thanks in advance! Apologies if this isn't the most exciting post ever!

Hi TC
I'd say that your first time on track will be fun no matter what you go out in. It looks like the event you have picked is run like a sprint (one car at a time) so you won't have to worry about other cars, looks like a good choice to me.
Have fun and if you get the bug then a MX5 or hot hatch is the ideal next step to get out on the full circuits in.

Thanks for the advice everyone!
Not going to be able to make the track day I had planned unfortunataly, but seriously think of selling the twingo and upgrading! Spent most of my time at work today looking at MX5s!
madmover - MK2 with a hardtop is exactly what I've been looking at!
Thanks again everyone!
