Oulton Park 2nd March

Booked up with Trackaction to do Oulton again in March . Anyone whos been on one of their days will know they run a good day , Oultons a cracking track and the facilities are good too , so who else is going ?

I'm looking to do Bedford in Feb as a shakedown after hopefully ditching the Westfield dry sump for SBD's , Oulton is a overnight stay for me so I want to make sure its ok before I go to Oulton , I'll be in a black Megabusa .

I see you've got a Westield as well , be nice to get a few more up there and try and give Steve ( Trackaction )a run for his money , last November we had about 10 there .

Yes Im on the WSCC so booked it after seeing the thread on there.

Bit of a shakedown for me aswell, engine decided to die going in to Druids on my 1st trackday back in septemper. Got her all fixed up just not had chance to tax it and take it on a run yet. Fitting a new Alternator and engine bracket at the weekend so hoping to get out in the next few weeks.

There is day at Donny on the Saturday before the 2nd, Im thinking of booking it but not sure if its a bad idea booking 2 so close together :s

Wouldn't worry bout doing two days close together as long as the cars prepped . I did Oulton and Bedford last year back to back and didnt have any problems .

Yep going to give the westfield its first run of the year, done a few trackaction online trackdays and they have all been superb.

I'd be kinda worried if you weren't there Steve ! , now you've forecast dry weather I'll put the slicks on the rack and try them out .

Got an old , very old ! set I tried at Cadwell last year but couldnt really get on with them , couldnt feel how much grip they had to offer , the minute I changed back to the triple 8,s I could feel when the grip was running out .

Going to try them again and perservere with them and see how I get on . Have you got any tips ?

Warm them up well and if they are really old and knackered start looking for some fresh ones!

Both me and Stoney will be on slicks (hopefully!) so you'll have to jump in and see how things compare.

Theyre a pretty old set but it will good to see how they compare to yours , I'll take you up on that offer Steve .

You running 16 / 53's ?

I have been on 16/53s all round although a lot of cars use 20/54 or 22/54s on the rear. I've just got some 18/54s so I'll be trying a pair on the back on Friday, hoping it won't give too much grip at the back as the car does tend towards understeer and the balance has been pretty good on the 16/53s.

Yep , it was a brilliant day Stoney , You over took me on track and I tried to keep up with you but couldn't , shame bout Steve's car , was hopeing to get another ride in it .

Went out with Stu Pearson in the afternoon and got some good feedback from him .

Are you doing Rockingham on the 27th April with Circuit Days ?

Yep, was a really good day, blue sky and no queues .

I just want to say thanks to any drivers that were there, we were getting comments all day about how well everyone was driving on track, watching mirrors etc and we did the entire morning without a red flag
