Castle Combe Track Day - Saturday 17th March

Castle Combe circuit are hosting this event for us - their usual great service, warm hospitality and slick organisation.
This is a great early season event to blow off those cobwebs, best of all it's on a Saturday so no need to take the day off work. The main difference is that all proceeds go to Sue Ryder (the paliative care and hospice charity) so you'll not only have great fun on this fantastic track but you'll have the feel good factor of supporting a great cause

Price is £160 (much less than other organiser here) and for this we're running straight through lunch so everyone gets maximum track time - that's almost 15% more laps for free

• AutoSolo competition in the top paddock organised by Bristol Motor Club (£20 entry fee with prizes!!)

And if you run a noisy car (<105dB compared to the usual CC limit of 100dB) then get in touch as we're considering running a special reduced numbers session to keep you happy (for a small premium payable as less cars on track). All subject to demand of course.

Still some places left. We're also offering a noisy group for cars (<105dB) that can't meet the usual 100dB limit at Castle Combe.

Good price that, especially considering its a Saturday and free passenger helmet hire...

So passenger cost is free and so is helmet hire for said passenger?
Any idea on number of cars per 15minute session?

Hi Kazman,

Yes it's Saturday and yes there's free helmet loan for passengers. This is a charity event with 100% of proceeds to Sue Ryder so the aim is to raise money whilst everyone has fun, so we're charging for passengers - 1 free pass included in the track day price but if you sell that then the day only costs you £130. Anybody taking passengers will need to have previous track day experience.

At the moment we plan to run sessions (12 cars per session which is the perfect number for Combe). Depending on final numbers we may switch to OPL in the afternoon. Intention at the moment is to run through lunch hour so if we run sessions all day that means 7 sessions in a day - I think you'll agree that's plenty for most people/cars. In my experience OPL all day means it can take an hour to get on track in the morning, some run their cars till they die, track is closed to recover them and so it goes on. Sessions a.m. and OPL in the afternoon is the best compromise.

Seriously considering this, so just to confirm, if I want to attend with a mate (me being the only driver), the total cost is £160 including helmet hire for my friend for the entire day? Or am I missing the point, and drivers are obliged to take strangers on track as part of the initiative?

Is this still the case - Okay for cars to run over the usual 100db as long as they meet <105db ?

Yep - still planning a noisy session. Email to discuss the noisy group (<105dB) as places are strictly limited since we can only run 6 at a time.
