Lowest wear on 888's

Hi Guys,

I have a track day at brands on Saturday. I have a new set of 888s to put on but would prefer not too. How low can 888s be run before no grip etc? I can still just about see the grooves on all tyres.

These are only for the track, I have another set of tyres to use if wet and to and from track.

Is on a clio 172 if it makes any difference.

Haven't run them myself but whats the operating temperature like this time year for tyres such as this?

Cold weather will mean the tyres are harder to get up to temp, but once you start drivng hard it's it too diffficult.

Worse is, as soon as you are off the power and heat drops you get loads of pick up which goes hard very quickly and covers the tyre in rubber.

Neither as bad as a cold and rainy day though.

I run Michelin Cups 12 months a year, rain or sun, and no issues.

I ran 888's on a day that hit a high of -3 degrees celcius, they were fine.

I've also ran them down to no tread, also fine (but don't get through to the canvas!)
