PistonHeads Track Days 2012

Join us at Rockingham and Silverstone for our 2012 track sessions

Every year we aim to get PHers assembled for a few track days and this year is no different, but this time around we are linking with two midlands-based circuits to offer a location suitable for all PHers UK wide.

As with previous PH track days, you'll get plenty of track time and all are welcome whether you're a complete novice or a track veteran. Sessions are run on an ‘open pitlane’ format meaning you can go on and off track as you please throughout the day and this helps to create a friendly and relaxed feel at each venue.

Rockingham is well known for its challenging infield circuit with high kerbs, tight turns and high speed ‘bowl’ section and that’s why we have chosen to visit Rockingham’s International circuit twice this year.

Fully trained ARDS instructors will be on hand throughout the day to offer free advice, or if you're looking to achieve the perfect racing line one-to-one tuition is also available and can be booked in advance. Pit garages can also be reserved on a first-come-first-served basis and helmet hire is also available.

Rockingham will also give you your first additional driver for FREE, so if you want to share the cost of a track day, you can.

Session details are as follows:

To book over the telephone, please call 01536 270143 and quote ‘PistonHeads’

Silverstone needs no introduction, and PistonHeads will be visiting for the first time in many years. The best news is we’ll have a date for the full GP circuit, and that offers an opportunity not to be missed. In addition to driving on the famous circuit the Silverstone PistonHeads track days also offer the following benefits:

  • Food and drink vouchers will be provided FREE of charge to the named driver
  • Photography and in car filming services at each session
  • In car instruction (FREE for first timers on familiarisation laps).
  • First-come, first-served complimentary shared garages (to guarantee one, book in advance)
  • Selected cars from the Silverstone Fleet available to hire.
  • Mechanical support services on hand
  • Helmets are available to hire on the day at £10

Session details are as follows:

  • Monday 13th August – International Circuit  £299 per car
  • Monday 3rd September – Grand Prix Circuit £399 per car

For further information and booking please call the dedicated PistonHeads line 0844 3728 324 or email them at pistonheads@silverstone.co.uk

Silverstone driver information and terms can be read here

We look forward to seeing you on track later this year!

Silverstone is one of the most expensive due to it name, location and facilities they provide.

If I have my caterham by then I will be booking a slot.

The weather should be great aswel with silverstone being in August.

The BMW Car Club Trackday at Silverstone on the GP in September is £325. Only £275 if you are a member. I`ve done a day with them before, it was very well run. They do charge for extra drivers etc, but for a single person driving, they are good value for Silverstone.

I thought PH would be able to negotiate SOME discount for a `PH Trackday` !!!

Rockingham is selling these as "normal" track days at the same price. Just an observation...

Thanks, that's very interesting. How many cars do they run and can non-members bring non-BMWs?

Best value day of the year on the GP circuit I would think (unless anyone knows otherwise). Having said that, £400 is not unusually expensive.

Circuit Days have a couple of dates at Rockingham up for £169 at the moment ........

Without wanting to take this thread off topic, Yes, they take non-BMW`s. Max cars is around 100 on the Silverstone Arena layout, they use the new Pit complex, they now have FREE ARDS instruction and Nick who runs the BMW CC checks each applicant for previous track experience, to try and ensure no idiots turn up. From my experiences with them, he does that.

As I said, I don`t want to take this off topic, but I was answering the question someone asked earlier. I have no affiliation with BMW CC, my track car is a MK2 Golf, but they let me on track with them. Hmmm, thinking about that, what was I saying about keeping the riff raff out ?... laugh
