Anyone know of a good mount that is good for track use?
iv heard of marshals being a bit funny on some mounts.

You cant use a mount that is screen mounted or relies on suckers. It needs to be bolted to the roll cage or screwed into the dash.
Personally I would gaffer tape it someplace that isnt obviously seen from outside the car as they never inspect the inside and will only pull you up if it is visible.

I used a piece of kit called the Glif+. This allows you to mount the iPhone on any standard camera mount.

I then mounted the camera using a suction cup mount purchased on eBay for about £5.50. I was able to use the get up at Bedford Autodrome with no problems.

In the rain / damp conditions the car was a handful but in the dry it was really good.
There is plenty of run-off at Bedford, so you have to travel a pretty long way before hitting anything solid.

Bought one of those, some 5mm threaded bar (wanted 4mm but was out of stock)and some M5 wingnuts.
Easy job to fix it to the dash, well, it would be if you have the right tools. I didn't and it was a bit of a pain in the ass, and it still needs some tidying up. Just need to cut the threaded bar a bit shorter, so they're all equal and look tidy. Will do that once I can get a decent blade for the saw!
I also done one of the holes too close to the the stand bit, so as a wingnut screws down, it catches and won't do up, so it's actually only secured by 3 bars at the moment, but it's solid as a rock.
Does help if you don't mind having 4 holes in the dash, which isn't a problem for me, as having my phone in the car actually doubles the value of the car!
It looks proper gypsy spec, will have a go at tidying it up on the weekend.
It's very sturdy, doesn't seem to shake much at all, but I wasn't exactly going for it on the roads. Will be interesting to see how it holds up on a trackday.

I did look on Ebay, but couldn't find it any cheaper. Never thought to look on Amazon! b

That was from the other day, and it seems to be fairly stable, but I wasn't exactly going fast or braking hard.
I'm not sure how else to mount one. My mate said he mounted one with some bar going across the grab handles in the back seat, that could work without having to drill anything, just clamp it to the handles.

on the 205 there is a metal base plate which is bonded on then the mirror arm slides onto it. i bonded the plate on with rear view mirror glue, i don't think it will come off easily if at all, but i don't mind it being there.k22wes said:

That's quite interesting.The rear view mirrors are bonded to the screen and they don't fall of, surely they can't refuse if a camera mount is? I expect an Iphone doesn't weigh much more than a rear view mirror anyway?

It appears, or claimed at least, 'rear view mirror clue removal' (googled) is reasonable which makes sense as would be hard to relace mirror in same position if you could not remove old glue. Could be a way forward avoiding suction mounts?
