Road Insurance for a Track Day only car
Discussion
Theres no discount for only going to and from track days unfortunately, you will have to insure it as a heavily modified road car. What are you looking for? cover that will replace all the modifications if the car gets stuffed or very cheap insurance that will allow you to legally drive to track days? do you want cover while on the track day?
RSA include track day cover in their policies but they are fussy on modifications,
Adrian Flux are good with modifications but arent that cheap,
Post office/Tesco/M+S are usually very cheap but cover meets the law and little more,
(A nice Ven diagram would be good here ;p)
Trailer and tow bar fitting is usually cheaper than even 6months track car insurance.

This is true. If only I had room for a trailer I'd certainly go down this route.V8mate said:

Youll need one with tracks for the wheels to climb on, most of these that Ive seen can be partially dismantled taking the tracks off the chasis which can then all be put on edge against/behind a wall. Ive no where to store one either so am hoping to split one with another track driver and hope we dont want to go to the same days!RichV12 said:
Hi,
Can any recommend a company that specialises or offers car insurance for heavily modified cars designed for track day use? Will only be on the public roads to and hopefully from local track days.
thanks
I use competition car insurance for my very heavily modified, stripped etc. [but road legal] track prepped car.Can any recommend a company that specialises or offers car insurance for heavily modified cars designed for track day use? thanks
I only ever use on road to get to and from circuits and occasional run on road in between track days just to keep things ticking over nicely as i don't like idea of car not running for weeks and even months at a time.
Try Paul at 'Need to Insure', they have competition cart policy's available
