I'm not far form this circuit but never been.
Looking for cheap days out with the kids, the Zoo had a great deal - 1 day pass gives you a year entry but an annual pass at Lydden would probably be more fun for me and the kids I expect, especially the Rally Cross events.

They advertise an annual pass for 120.00 that gives access to all events which seems a good deal.
Was wondering what the spectator facilities are like - do not see a grandstand of sorts. Do you just park up around the circuit and sit on the grass/in/on your car sort of a thing?

It's no F1 circuit for sure, I live close by, I like spectating there you can see a lot of the circuit as it's small and in a dip.

I live close by also, and done a few track days there.

It's at the bottom of a hill, quite a basic site, nothing for the kids to do. There's a small burger van.

Viewing is quite good though, as you can sit on the bank/hill and see most of the action, as it's a small circuit. Imagine a small Brands Hatch.

It's great for spectating. Stand at the far end of the circuit, on the grass banking and you can see the whole track.....follow the whole race. Unlike most circuits where you just get a portion of the race flying past you every min or so.

Popping down in a couple of hours to see what it's like. The BRC looks great on tv so I'm sure it'll be fun to see live.

Had a few hours there with kids. Good fun, especially on a day like today and very cheap. Will be down there again.

Hey Mat, is the hotel in Sandwich yours? We've been in bar a couple times - sandwich bay is a favourite of ours. May have seen your yellow lotus about Canterbury actually.

I used to have a share yes sold it in September. Stayed on for now.

Sold my Yellow Elise in 2009 now have a silver S1 hardly drive it which is shame. I go to Lydden with my kids would be good to meet a fellow petrol head in the area.

Would be good to meet up yes. Seen allot of ph type cars in and around Canterbury including a Z8 so there must be a few more of around here...
I'm probably taking my son to the supercar meet at KDS in Gillingham on Sunday. Not sure of times yet but will let you know. If the weather stays the way it is we might be out your way this weekend instead but then I'll be in the family bus...

I like Lydden, but doubt I'd get enough use out of a £120 pass, even though I'm only a few miles away.

I'll often go in for an hour or two on track days, to watch or talk to friends participating. They're free for spectators, and kids won't know any different. smile
