Hi all.

Are there any alternatives to a carlimits day up north?

I've done a few trackdays in the Exige, but I've just bought a Griffith 500, and it seems it's determined to kill me. I really want to learn the limits of the car in a low speed environment.

Basically I want to be able to go sideways without being black flagged, but I have no drifting experience. I know Oulton Park have a low grip drift circuit, but their next open day seems to be the 22nd of June, which is a age away.

Any ideas?

You could booked yourself on a "ride drive" 1 day driving course. They are very good and the instructor will give you 1/2 day on the road instruction and 1/2 day on an airfield to go as sideways as you like. For anybody with a newly acquired TVR these courses offer good value for money and you can really explore the limits in a safe environment.

+1 for Ride Drive. I did one of their courses after buying the Tuscan, even though I had a Chimaera before, taught me about the cars limits, but more importantly my own.

The Tuscan still probably wants to kill me, but we have a mutual respect now
