Via MSV, anyone going? Supposed to be nice weather at 17degrees.

I'll be there in the Volvo C70 but I wont be driving much on track as its the girlfriends birthday present (she was the one that said she didn't want anything smile ) so she will be doing most of the driving. Did I mention its her first ever track day smile

I went, thought your misses drove really well, assuming it was her and you didn't get to greedy on track time yourself.

Weather held out so perfect conditions. There wasn't to many road cars either. A well run day without many red flags.

Yep, I was there with a mate. Him in a Puma and me in an mx5.

Hope you had a good time, you looked like you had plenty of track time.

Matt.

We took it in turns, but she stayed out for longer than I did. The car was severely let down by its normal crappy tyres so it was understeer on every corner, but it was predictable.

There were way too many race cars and the speed differential was crazy. Wished I was in my other T5 then we would have been overtaking a few more cars smile

Were you in the white v8 m3?

Hi Matt, I saw a silver Puma and a number of mx5s, was yours a silver mk2?

We did around 120miles on track which isn't bad at all. It will be the C70s maiden outing on track as I felt by 11am that the g/f was confident enough on track to take the quick T5 out next time.

In case the chap in the white Caterham Superlight R500 is on here and sees this, I never caught your name, but thank you so much for taking both of us out on passenger laps. It was the first time either of us have been in that type of car before and to say that we both enjoyed ourselves is a complete understatement! I was speechless when we got back in to the pits. The speed that you could take into the corners, braking so late into corners and just how alive the whole car felt, it was just pure driving. Getting back in to the C70 afterwards was a complete disappointment biggrin

The MX5's were having a blast from what I saw.

You and the misses driving was still fab and you were carrying good speed, checked mirrors all the time - good track day etiquette.

I was in the white M3 CSL, a couple of the others were in the orange Bmw E36 and black E46 M3.

Tyres make a massive difference as road tyres normally go off in a few hot laps of Snetterton.

Looking forward to booking again.

Yeah the mx5s were having loads of fun as they always do. I've not made my mind up yet but I will probably replace the C70 with a mk1 mx5, it will be my daily road car as I fancy a rwd car.

When you passed us on the A14 in the morning I said to the missus I bet he's going to Snetterton biggrin

It was my first time on track with normal road tyres as I use Federal 595rsr on the other V70. Having an open diff didn't help and the traction control was just irritating. I should have swapped the wheels over but I was concerned about them rubbing due to the C70 having standard suspension. Next time I will let her loose in the 450bhp V70 T5 smile

Combe for me at the end of next week in the V70 along with 30 odd other Volvos biggrin

Yep, that silver MK2 is mine. Had it a year, done 1k miles, 400+ of them in 3 trackdays at Snetterton this year, great fun, cheap car.

Totally agree. Track days used to be about road cars. Sure there were some fast road cars there, but the drivers did have good respect for other track users.
The race cars tended to really hound you, which for anyone on a first track day, can be quite intimidating.

Your CSL sounded gorgeous. I followed you round on the sighting laps and just kept chuckling to myself as you kept sticking your foot in.

I think the 2 white Clios were the worst for hounding and the red Ferrari 458 diving on the inside under brakes a couple of times I was unimpressed with. But all in, couldn't really complain as you expect it with these motorsport teams and drivers.
