I’m driving at Donington on Sat 7th July at the Annual BookaTrack Porsche Owners Day. I haven’t done tons of track days & have only driven Donington once years ago in a Vauxhall Movano. Bizarre I know but was attending What Van Live through work at the time. I know it will help me if I get some tuition and would appreciate recommendations for a decent instructor. Can anyone help?

I booked a day at Donnington last year with Gary Marsh using a GT3 he used his extensive knowledge of both Donnington and of the Porsche GT3 to get me around the track with no dramas, more safely and much quicker than if I had been on my own.

Gary is an ARDS S grade instructor, he is able to quickly analyse the areas of your driving that needs work and will tailor the tuition to your needs, he is very approacable, friendly and most important calm.

He specialises in Performance Driver Coaching for Porsche owners his number is 07768997050 give him a call I am sure he would be able to help.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gary Marsh (A Need 4 Speed) - I've tried quite a few instructors over the years but have used Gary exclusively since I started with him. He has a great understanding of Porsches (he owns a GT3 and shares a 997 Cup Car) and is able to convey his knowledge in a patient and understandable fashion. I have recommended him to several people starting out in track days and the vast majority have turned into repeat customers which I think speaks volumes about what a good instructor he is.

I should point out that I have no commercial interest in this at all - it's just that I've had the misfortune to use some complete muppets who were claiming to be good instructors over the years and it's quite nice to be able to recommend someone who actually is genuinely good at it!

I used both Gary Marsh (http://aneed4speed.co.uk) and Malcolm Edeson (http://www.driver-coaching.com/) - both are excellent coaches. I did Donington for the first time recently with Gary in my own Boxster.

Getting one to one instruction for the day is a great idea if you're happy to spend that sort of money. However, if you just want 2 or 3 twenty minute slots then BaT, like all other TDOs, have their own instructors available. You can usually book them on the day but it's better to book them in advance (just edit your BaT booking).

I've always had excellent input from the BaT instructors (Sarah and Scott) and have already booked a slot for the 7th. See you there! thumbup

I am Instructing at Donington anyway on Sat 7th July. An experienced Track Day driver who has never driven at Donington has asked me to spend some time with him early morning to literally put him on the right lines & review his driving technique.
I have additional spare 1hr slots available throughout the day & would be happy to be of assistance. So if any driver feels some expert coaching would be of benefit please feel free to call me or e mail me to plan a 1hr session. Thank you.

I drive a GT3 and have also had instruction and time with Gary, and participated in one of his Performance Driving days, and can thoroughly recommend his approach and skills.
