I've done two track days now, as an extra driver in a mates MX-5, this will be my first track day with my VX220. My mate's going with the MX-5 and his brother, I'll be there with my [grown up] niece as an extra driver.

I must admit, I can't wait, I'm getting insurance for peace of mind, if anything happened to the VX I'd be gutted.

I'm also giving it a service before the day.

So, who else is going?

I've just paid and booked.

Quick question. Between London and Brands Hatch, where would the best place to stop for a quick breakfast on the way? Preferably full english. smile

Also, who you using for insurance, and how much is it hitting you?

I'll get my insurance through CCI (Competition car Insurance), they quoted me £88, which basically equates to 1% of car value, plus an admin fee I think.

As for breakfast, the two track days I've been to so far have had a canteen providing breakfast. If not, try and find a service station on the way.

Excellent, thanks mate. Submitted the quote forum, lets see what they say.

So, its a 5 series smoker, my R32, an MX5 and ,if the weather its suitable, a ZR12 powered 200hp odd kit car thing from our side.

Me neither, the worse the conditions the better my car. smile

But yeah, the bike powered kit car thing struggles in the dry apparently, and would be suicide in the wet.

You have told the driver/builder that the throttle isn't a switch, haven't you? wink

Unless of course he/she did actually build it as a switch!! eek

To quote him: "Who wants to drive 447bhp/ton on cut slicks with no tc or abs in the wet? I'm a little scared..."

I'm with him. I wouldnt risk it.

That's alright, you can change the set-up for wet if necessary can't you? I just hope it doesn't snow and get cancelled.

GTRCook, totally missed your post mate, looking forward to seeing a Skyline driven in anger (well, not anger per se, but you know what I mean!! laugh )

Indeed, that's a lot of toy to have sitting around gathering dust, I get enough grief off of SWMBO if the VX doesn't get out enough!! laugh

I got a quote for £128 for insurance. Think I'll be taking it.

Was that from CCI? I personally think it's worth, for peace of mind if nothing else.
