Hi guys,

I am about to fit a big bore throttle body to my e36 328 and am wondering if I also need to remove the ASC body?

Can anyone out there help with this information.

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

The ASC throttle body bolts to the throttle body so you should be fine unless its been modified in some way so you dont have the bolt holes on the TB - I removed mine altogether & fitted a non-asc intake hose

OK, I will try a simpler question!

I am about to fit a big bore throttle body.

Do I also need to remove the ASC throttle body?

As I was told at school with reference to exam technique - "answer the question asked"

Well I am sorry - maybe just look at it, try & fit it and then you'll know without having to waste time asking on a forum - how about that? rolleyes

Tee Hee!

That is exactly what I will be doing in a week's time when I am home, but as I am currently in the middle of the North Sea, I thought I would get a bit of a heads-up before I get home.

Have you ever wondered how it is that, as a nation we are all sarcastic buggers, but we never think someone could be being sarcastic when we see the written word?

There is one for discussion.

You should've got a bored out ASC throttle body as well, otherwise you won't see the gain.

Unless you mean you're junking ASC?

Yes, that is what I meant.

I think after it is removed I need to link one of the plugs out with a resistor and all will be fine with the rest of the ASC system apparently. I do have a copy of the post, but not to hand right now.

I also gather that the concertina hose between the AFM and the ASC throttle body is an issue so I am going to completely replace the ASC and this hose with a straight through silicone affair and see how that works out while I am waiting for the throttle body to arrive.
