Now my caterham is all sorted, I'm looking to book my first car track day. Ive been a regular bike track dater over the last few years but its time for 4 wheels now. Got my eye on a day in January with javelin.

Has anyone used Javelin Trackdays? Are they any good? Whats their organisation like?

Cheers,

O.K

I have used them a couple of times and found them to be fine, well organised and quite relaxed.

I agree with all the above. I've been using them since the Binbrook days and have never had a problem.

Not been on an event with them yet, but will be booking with them as they seem the most no nonsense and reasonably priced trackday organiser for the tracks I want to drive.

Apex are worth a look as well mate. I tend to use them as competitively priced and their prices include tuition , which is ideal if just getting into car track days.

Always well run and relaxed atmosphere.

Used the last year, well organised day, organisation ran as it should and would not hesitate to book through them again.

They're pretty good although faffed around with sending out the indemnity form which I needed signed before the event by a parent. Ended up receiving it from them the night before at around 8 o'clock having hassled them for a month !

Trackday as a whole was run well though.

Done loads of days with them, no problems here.

Well run and relaxed BUT, if you drive like a cock, expect black flagging. Which in my opinion is just how it should be.

Good outfit.

I know Colin Jebson who runs Javelin well.

They run the Toyoya Sprint Series during the summer and it always run like clockwork.

Just to add more unneccessary weight to all of the above.

I have been using them for over 5 years now & always look for their days first when I am looking.

Very well run, don't suffer cocklike driving at all, exactly as it should be, a fun day for ALL.

They do have quite a lot of cars on track at once though. But you get what you pay for.

But then don't you think that makes it all the more interesting?

I was at a day at Croft earlier in the year & there were 5 cars for the day!

I generally do 30 - 45 minute sessions & I don't think I ever overtook more than once per session!

Javelin are top guys and I have had some very good days with them and lots of track time with a relaxed but well managed driving standards arrangement.
Like you, I came from bike days and there are some massive differences in what is considered acceptable. 3 abreast into corners, stuffing it up the inside and lifting people in corners is all going to be a distant memory and unlike bikes where mirrors are absent or turned in, Car days rely heavily on people looking in their mirrors. Listen to the briefing carefully, play nicely and have a good time.

Also have a look at Lotus-on-Track. I've used both them and Javelin and they have always been well run and a good bunch to get on with.

Also recommended, especially when they do the full bedford GT circuit, even with a lot of cars you have plenty of space, track time, and run off.
