Monza and Mugello

A rare opportunity, anyone else got plans to go?

Having spent the last year re-building a track Caterham to a new spec, then this year is about getting out and using it, a lot.

Already on the provisional list and speaking to Jonny about further details to confirm. Too good an opportuntiy to miss, having spectated at both circuits more than once for WSB/MGP, they are both pretty special as just a visitor. Getting the chance to drive them is too good to pass up.

Not sure the long straights at Monza are real Caterham territory, but the bits that connect them will be great fun, certainly Curva Grande, Ascari chicane and the Lesmo's.

Mugello is a really different prospect with gradients, blind apexes and a real flowing nature to it, plus a very long straight, stringing a really good lap together will be a challenge. The section from Luco to Saveli should be great, especially the downhill run through Casanova.

I've got friends who have driven Mugello with Aston Martin and Ferrari and their feeback has always been glowing . . . Although the equipment will be slightly different

I've driven Monza not sure what you'll be expecting there aren't a lot of turns to be honest 8 in all and you can discount 2 of them as they're flat out 3 more are 70/80 mph Curve grande is flat out in a 911 GT3RS 160mph + then hard on the brakes for Variante della roggia (chicane) down to lesmo 1 70mph smallish straight into lesmo 2 70mph then another small straight into curva del serraglio sometmmes referreed to as lesmo 3 but this is flat out as well 150/160mph then on the brakes for Ascari complex 70mph ish shallow chicane then another long 150mph + straight to the Parabolica then the Retiffilo tribune (start finish straight 160mph+ staright till you hit the brakes hard for the 40mph Rettifilo chicane then you can do it all again this is the fast track on the F1 Calendar it's also very hard on the brakes.......good luck in the Caterham if your doing it it's fast and huge fun
