Nurburgring Trackday. Destination Nurburgring August 2013
Discussion
Darren has just announced the dates for the next Destination Nurburgring trackdays.
I last did one back in 2011 and have nothing but praise for the way these days are run. Low numbers and as much track time as you could want on a very quiet circuit.
Concerned about your UK insurance and the risk of a 3rd party claim if something went wrong on TF ? The only way to be sure that isn`t an issue is a trackday and having done a DN event before I highly recommend them.
To say I`m looking forward to doing this would be a bit of an understatement.
I`ve booked onto the DN9 event on the 5th and 6th August. More details on the website http://www.destination-nurburgring.com
Rather than taking my Golf, I`ll be sharing my sons E36 328i trackcar with him instead.
Anyone else going ?

I might be about, look forward to seeing you, are you bringing the entire tribe?
Yes mate

Cat is already out there working, Lou will be around and Matt & I will be sharing the driving. As he can`t get insurance to cover him on the ring, this is the only way he can drive it. An August date is perfect for us.

How'd you book the August Date? Says "booking opens shortly" on the website???
Cheers.
I rang Darren, had a chat and put my name down. Payment hasn`t been taken yet, but it`s concrete enough for me to book accommodation and crossings, once the website opens for booking I`ll finalise the booking process. Cheers.
By `booking`, I meant I`d committed to the date and made plans accordingly, sorry, if it was slightly misleading.

gotcha! bookatrack are doing the friday before as well....a very long weekend at the 'Ring?
BaT are IIRC full day on Thursday then Friday morning upto 1pm.That however sounds like it could be a very long and expensive weekend at the ring... 1.5 days BaT then 2.5 days TF followed by DN9... surely nobody is going to do the lot. I'd need a transit full of tyres and pads.

even though its a closed track day CCI have said they wont cover the nordschleife, only the GP circuit. Bit of a let down as im sure they told me before i took the policy out they would cover it.
Can someone recommend an insurer to call for the DN days?
CCI covered me for the Noble in October, wasn't included in the free days that you get tho, had to pay for it. Also had a quote from reis which was a bit higher than cciCan someone recommend an insurer to call for the DN days?
this seems a good thread to ask as you're all familiar with the ring and DN. i have a 1.6 Elise - what do you guys reckon to that on the ring?
would i have fun or should i wait until i have more raw bhp? i was out on Thruxton recently. i was fine, and the back straight before the chicane gave me plenty of space to pull the right!
