Hi guys,

The other week I saw that, unusually, there is an extra long weekend of TF days and decided to book up for it.

The full TF days are the 30, & 31st of May, and the 2nd of June, with an evening session on the 1st of June.

I have booked accommodation in a rented appartment in a nearby village that I have stayed in before & will probably be going with either a mate or my Son.

Just wondered if anyone else was going at the same time?

I was going to choose those dates and I then realised that 9th and 10th May are also two full mid-week TF days so went for that instead in the hope that it will be a little less busy. I am hoping the snow will have finally melted by then, lol, and that they will have had time to do the re-surfacing work that is planned.

Either way, I am sure you'll have fun as neither dates should be too busy compared to a weekend...

My thoughts exactly. I did see the dates you mention also, alas I am working then, so that ruled them out.

I don't know if they are German bank holidays or some such.... I do hope not, as I am banking on the days being quiet to get a few uninterupted (by accident) laps in for a change....... Never done any in 5 years, since my very first one!

If you want some decent laps, then avoid this weekend like the plague.

any midweek TF full days, just makesure you check close tot he date they are still on as they have a habit of being canceled last minute.

not like the good old days with mid week full days a regular thing.

Thanks for that. ste. Well at least the problem is the same for both weekends. They might not be as quiet as I expected as a lot of local might use this as an extended weekend and not work on the 10th (or 31st) either... oh well...

I am going this weekend and have already booked up.I would not worry too much about all the talk of it going to be too busy as any TF now is very busy ,but over four days you will always get plenty of track time and early mornings are good but not for the best times as it seems to take a few hours for the track to come good.

Cool. Are you sure they're running ? Still some snow and they haven't started the planned re-surfacing yet ?

They will still be running as the snow looks like it has nearly gone now on the web cam,and the new surface will go down really quickly once they get going.Im going to take my car over on the 22nd so they had better hurry up !!

Sorry. By "this weekend" I thought you meant 9/10 March.

I'll be there during the May/June holiday weekend, complete with new tyres and brakes all round. If it rains all weekend I think I'll cry! I don't fancy doing it in the wet.

We've got two blue E46 M3 CSs and an E34 M5 going - look out for us and say hi! What are you driving?

We walked onto the track one night on a previous trip (at Bergwerk corner)....the road surface feels like a painted wall to the touch (that's the best I can describe it).
Hence, the water just sits on top when it rains (unlike a public road, where it can go between the asphalt 'bits' into small furrows)....suffice to say, I will NOT be driving if it rains much. smile

Hope you have a good time - I'm partly just looking forward to having the Pistenklause steak again - it's AMAZING!

Always a good meal in the Pistenklause........my fave is the fillet steak with gorgonzola sauce..............

Regarding wet laps, last time we went in the Z4M it was wet and very slippery, followed a 911 carrera 4 around whose driver was getting instruction, a great way to learn the lines.

Taking our old mini to Italy for a show and hopefully see the Mille Miglia mid May - all being well we shall be at the ring for a few laps on Fri and Sat 24/5.
