Any one used these, looking at pads to go with new calipers (AP standard CP5070D54 or CP507051 sizes) and these are a fitment option. They would be going on 6 pots on the front of a mk3 MR2 (~970kg / ~190bhp), on the rear I have Carbotech Pads with a coefficient of friction of 0.56 car is mostly used for trackdays and the occasional bit of commuting when the weathers too bad for a motorbike.

Opinions? or what do people think of other alternatives?

Ferodo, DS2500, DSUNO, DS1-11

Pagid, RS29, RS15, RS5

EBC, Yellow, Red, Blue, Green

Performance Friction, 01

AP Racing, APF404.

I'm beginning to lean towards APF404, as they are similar COF to the Carbotechs and are advised where RS4-2 Pagids have worked and I liked them. Initially thought CL as the Elise lot raved about them, bit I think that was talking RC6?

That's good - it's one of those subjects where the more I read the more differing opinions there are, lots say the CL pads eat discs sending slotted AP discs smooth in one trackday etc which isn't good.

Looking at CF charts Pagid RC5's look we'll balanced and quite high CF, but they say suited to lightweight cars like F3. Anyone tried them on an Elise S2 or Exige S2 as that would be most comparable to my car?

The APF404 CF maybe a bit low..

If you have quality discs then no problem, but £12 a pair chinese discs.....

You won't buy better pads than these, race car rc8 front rc6 rear, we are trying the rc6e at the moment and they seem very good with little wear,

Ok so the RC8's get a good vote, no ones expensive AP / Alcon 2 part discs have been savaged by them to any excessive degree?

No,they are no harder on discs than any other pads, they leave a film on the discs which sometime may be mistaken for disc deterioration ?

The RC6`s were the best pads I`ve ever run. I`ve tried Ferrodo, EBC, Carbotech, Carbone Lorraine and Axxis.

I`ve now ordered some RC6E`s, awaiting delivery. Slightly less friction than the 6`s, but I`m hoping the extended life will be worth the fractional loss of braking (according the the graphs) and increased price.

I was tempted to go for the RC8`s myself, but wondered if they might be a bit too `grabby` for my car.

Once I took price into account, the RC6E`s appear to be the better value pad for wear/performance out of the 3.

I have sent a request for a quote for RC6 and RC8 for my calipers as I find a CL part number for the correct fitment on the distributors website but no prices. It's 5009W54T17 or AP equivalent CP5070 D54.

If you brake HARD on track they absolutely demolish discs, very high mu. Used them with brembo discs.

I'm using Pagid RS29 on the noble, by far the best pads I've used, (AP, Ferrodo, EBC).

Same, for a vehicle around 1300-1800KG the RS29's are the best pads.

Decided to be boring and went for Pagid RS4-2, was getting worried it'd upset the balance too much going for higher friction pads.
