Hi,
I'm looking this year into going to the ring on my 600. Have been the past 3 years in a row in a group of 4 but we have always taken our own cars. I have recently upgraded my 400 to a 600 superbike and have always fancied heading out there on one. Anyone got any advice for me or has anyone personally been on a bike etc...
All info much apreciated.

Go and stay at Sliders. There is a wealth of knowledge there, and you will find out all you need to know about the local air ambulance service.

Agree about staying at Sliders (and the air ambulance comment).

Personally I would opt for a bike trackday rather than a TF day, I've driven TF and track days but only ridden a bike trackday there. Unless you are exceptionally fast (and lucky) you will have cars all over you in every corner on a TF day and most of them will be trying to push past/under you.

I,d agree with this. Brendan is a wealth of knowledge, can give you good advice, and will almost certainly come around for a few laps with you. Having done both cars and bikes myself, personally I prefer driving cars around there. My first three visits were on a bike ( fazer 1000 ) , the next three in a car. The safety aspect obviously comes into it with a bike but you,ve a little headstart in that you,ve already done it by car so that OMFG feeling you get has already occured. Wont do TF myself anymore so our next visit will be an organised trackday. I,d suggest this if you can afford it.

I'm more comfortable going fast on a bike than in a car, coupled with being able to see further ahead on the bike ment I had a better time.

I let those chomping at the bit to go out first then head out, do a sighting lap then build up the speed, check my mirrors on the straights and worry more on where the road goes, picking my braking and turn in points and getting a decent line through the corners - have fun and ride at a pace you're comfortable with not stting your pants because there may be a gt3rs behind you (they'll usually overtake cleanly or see the plate, roll their eyes and back off smile )

Thanks for all the replies. I take it sliders is the name of a local hotel? Is it in adenau? We have always stayed in the Hotel Zurburg which is only a couple of hundred yards away from the track entrance. I'm still abit unsure of wether or not to do it :/

Worth an ask on Northloop forum, lots of bikers on there with many thousands of laps.

Personally 2 wheels on a regular tf day has no appeal.

About 10-15 kms away from the main DH entrance (from memory). Good way to get warmed up prior to getting on the circuit. Food will be limited to (mostly) pizzas though smile
