Whats the least practical car you've tracked?

As per the title really, I want to do a track day and have been wanting to for ages (who hasn't?) but I wouldn't say my car was really a track weapon

At current I'm driving a '98 C180 Sport Manual. Oh and it's red so that makes it go faster!

Obviously if I did take the Merc out it'd be prepared where necessary as I'm a mechanic with access to ramps and trade discounts. (Tyres, discs + pads and clutch are all only a few months old anyway).
I'm also happy to take this as its the cheapest car I've owned and very easily (cheaply) replaced.

So whats the least practical thing you've abused around a track?

a lot less practical than that mate. youll not see many more practical cars than that on a track day! apart from maybe imprezas and the like. id say just go for it.and for your first one youve got a good base to start with. oulton park.18/06/13 with msvt. get it booked!

Attended a track day at Bedford and saw a new diesel Insignia estate and Jeep Cherokee doing laps. I asked the guy with the Jeep why it was on a track day. 'I'm selling it soon and I wanted to give it a good send off'.

A mate of mine had an Accord coupe which he took to Snett , every time he went round Corum it though it was rolling and went into limp mode.. so every lap was into the pits to turn off and on again...

Took my diesel Ford Galaxy around the Ring for a couple of laps a few years back, was dog slow, had trouble climbing the hills, and leant over like a double decker bus going around Hyde Park corner, but still had my brother with his feet up on the dash, fake braking and screaming for his life.
With regards to your Merc, at least try before you go to stick some track pads ( yellowstuffs bare minimum ) in as with a heavyish car, after a few laps and a bit of heat standard pads just wont work.

Chevrolet Matiz or similar. Three cylinder engine. Wet Donington, empty track. There's a facebook video. The car didn't exactly stay on the track the whole way around and I think X did a triple spin at one point. So funny.

Not even a bloody windscreen.
To be fair it handled well at the times I could reach the steering wheel.

120k miles BMW 320 estate on winter tyres, wasn't too bad after I turned the traction off, actually went past a number of "decent" cars could only do 3 laps at a time because of mega hot brakes. End of winter tyres and turbo gave up next day !

The least practical my old VX220' the most practical mk2 MR2 I guess as it had quite a big boot ;-)

If you are asking what's the most mundane practical car people have taken on track, alway see tow cars go out, usually big diesel estates. One guy at the last but one day I did actively arrived and planned to take out an E46 320d Estate, to be fair he was going well and faster than some more conventional track days cars.

Attempted the Van record at the Ring in 08 in my then 2002 Vito 112CDI. Missed Top Gear Van record by 10 seconds with a 10:18... After 5 laps gave up as my Van near fell apart, best fun on a track especially hitting 121 down Foxhall.
