Just booked my first track day in the MX5 at Bedford on 15th July. Looking forward to it though I am slightly nervous. Any tips other than dont crash into stuff?

Have fun - that was my first track day venue! Watch the big long hairpin before the main straight, slippy even when dry. In the wet it can feel like ice. Other than that it's all good - loads of run off everywhere.

Cheers

who did you book i through? I don't want to use the trackdays website as they are useless - would rather book direct

was there myself yesterday for the first time, what a blast. You wont be the fastest out there but you will have fun. The previously mentioned hairpin, and the other two are superb with an LSD. enter them in third gear then throw it into second to lock up the back wheels. nail your right foot to the floor and slide that back end roundbiggrin
best track day ive had in ages, enjoy

Would like to hear your views on the circuit and day after as I'm looking at doing one at Bedford in the beginning of September

Had such a great day today. I thought the day was incredibly well organised and the track itself is brilliantly well kept, wide and has lots of runoff.

Spent the morning just finding out way round (sorry if I got in your way) but after having some tuition felt far more competitive and ended up pleased with our performance.

The car didn't skip a beat either. Not bad for a 23 year old 1600.

If you haven't been before you most definitely should!
