As above, got a trackday booked for next Thursday... where's good to stay in the area? looking for a nice pub based b&b really but open to ideas...

Cheers,
James

I always use this place - http://www.oldthornbarn.co.uk and The Bird in Hand does a good dinner a couple of miles away. It's virtually next door to Lotus so about 10/15 minutes drive. Also The Boars in Spooners Row is good for dinner but they don't have rooms. Lots recommend the place on the A11 - Breckland Lodge but having stayed there once that was enough - it has the thinnest walls ever invented in the annexe where most rooms are.

Think we stayed here:

http://www.brecklandlodge.co.uk/rooms

Was rammed with loads of people going to the track next day, trailers with all sorts on the back.

Food was good and a nice place, although not the cheapest. Worth a look anyway

I've stayed at the Breckland Lodge a few times and never had a problem with it - but it is a little expensive. Mobile phone reception is ste, though!

Used to stay at www.griffinhotel.co.uk when I was penniless (and when it was much cheaper than now).

More recently I've stayed at www.sherbourne-house.co.uk which is very comfortable indeed. Both are convenient for restaurants in Attleborough.

Thanks for the replies everyone - I booked the Breckland Lodge in the end as I'd heard that was a safe bet!

What's the food like there? or is it worth eating out?

cheers,
James

As someone else has already mentioned, the food is not bad there. Saves time driving out to find somewhere. There is a nice pub down the road called the White Lodge with a very nice Menu although i have not eaten there. Also the Angel at Larling is meant to be good.

Hope that helps

The Angel at Larling WAS good last time I ate there, which was a couple of years ago - just off the A11 a little before Snetterton if heading from the Cambridge direction.

If you have a Lotus then Old Thorn Barn and Bird In Hand are a good combo. You'll almost definitely meet someone who touched your car it was being built ... or at least claim to have done. And if you pour enough beer down a random stranger they will shake their head sadly if you mention Mr Bahar ....

Other than that Breckland Lodge is spot on for cheap/clean accommodation with OK food and, as above, you'll be with loads of others who will be there for the track day.
