Affordable Track days near London
Discussion
Does anyone know of any affordable track days within 1 hour drive of London? Everything I found so far has involved only supercars which automatically command their price tag. I'm looking for something where I can either take my Vauxhall for a drive or medium priced cars are provided. I'm new to this forum so maybe someone can point me towards a threat that's already talking about this topic. Thank you! Barry
I think they do evenning novice events at brands for £80. Worth doing as you might find the car isn't suited to driving on track (tyres, brakes, whatever) and can't do more then a few sessions anyway.
Castle combe action days are cheap, just pay for 2 or 3 sessions. More then an hour away but I drive further then you would have to for them.

Trackdays are expensive** Barry , so I don't know what you mean by affordable. I like going to Goodwood , which is about an hour from London if you drive fast (!) , but prices vary from £320 to £550 depending on how many cars are booked in , which in turn depends on noise levels.
As has been pointed out , Brands Hatch Indy circuit is regarded as affordable by people who do trackdays , and there are airfield days with tight noise restrictions , eg those run by MSE ,that can be cheaper.

- The man maths suggests a budget of at least £500 a day based on petrol + consumables + track cost + insurance. If you break something it will be more

I would suggest Bedford as a better alternative to Brands as a first track day. You can do the SEN circuit there with msv on a saturday which is a nice track, has plenty of run off and is about the same price as a day at Brands Indy.
Brands is quite a hectic little circuit at times, especially the evening sessions where because of the limited time out there its pretty much busy all night and IMO can be quite stressful and frustrating.
