Hi All,

The Hampshire region of the TVR Car Club is holding a track day at Goodwood on Tuesday 13th of August. We have spaces for 30 cars in total with 20 signed up so far. The cost will be £180 which will be for a full day with over 30 laps of track time (many cars had in excess of 30 laps last time) in total spread across the day which will include instruction as required. Noise limit is 105dB. There will be lots of TVRs and a we also have a good mix of other cars. If you would like to come and join us you would be most welcome.

If you are interested please get in touch and I will let you know how to come on board.

Hampshire Regional Organiser

Hi, sounds like a bargain for Goodwood. I'm just down the road so I'll have a place please. Mate of mine is also interested. How do we sign up? Thanks, Chris.

105db - would it mean just 5 cars on track?
If so then at 30 cars it sounds rather grim, unless queuing is your fetish.

Thanks for your comment, I have many fetishes but queuing is not one of them! We will run with 6 cars on track until we get a handle on the noise and then it will probably go up to 7. Queuing is kept to a minimum by being proactive although there will always be a certain amount. I have been on track days all over the UK and Europe so I try to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

Thanks for the answer, 30 cars vs 6 means long waits (however a smooth operator you are).

As I mentioned, a certain amount of waiting is inevitable on any track day. Trackdays at Goodwood are very popular, you should try one. You can reduce the number of cars all told but that has an effect on price, so a balance has to be struck. The vast majority also want to have fun on the track without putting undue pressure on their vehicles. A gap helps all components to cool whilst still being great fun. Some people may elect to view time off track simply as waiting but the vast majority like to share their experience and excitement with other people when off the track and it doesn't seem to be a problem. It works as most people come back for more. Have fun whatever you choose to do.

Have fun chaps.

It is my understanding however that Goodwood impose the limit of 5 cars on track during 105 days. However it works though it is a breathtaking circuit to drive!

Not if you book with an organiser that guarantees no queuing it's not :-)

Hope you have a good day at Goodwood, we've not been for 5 years now - our "no queues guarantee" just doesn't work there due to limited numbers on-track unfortunately. Shame because it's a fabulous venue.

Excellent day at Goodwood today, big thanks to Steve, Nettie and anyone else involved for organising it. For the doubters I managed 50 laps in total which was more than enough for me, with 3 x sessions in the morning and more or less an open pit lane in the afternoon. Marshals were all very friendly even passing my Griff 500 at 105'ish dB wink Which was a "right result" as I was told Goodwood are rather strict on noise. wink As has been said, Goodwood is a great track.

I have to agree, excellent day, and now that Goodwood has taken a more relaxed view to noise infringements, it just adds to the pleasure, and cuts out the sand bagging antics that stopped the good flow of the circuit.

Had a great time too, especially in the afternoon after going open-pitlane when we certainly managed to get out a fair few times. Everyone was very friendly and the track driving etiquette was excellent; hope I didn't impede anyone's progress in my 2 tonnes of Swedish metal!biggrin
