Went to Screwfix on Friday to get a new wheel for my wheelbarrow, like you do.

Came out with the wheel (£29)........

.......and a DeWalt Lithium Ion 18 volt portable drill and impact drill set (£250), plus socket set adapters (£3).

A couple of months ago at Snetterton I shared a garage with someone who had brought his portable tool with him, and it made changing wheels in a hurry soooo much easier. He had a problem with a broken wheel that day, so we were changing wheels like a formula 1 team on steroids.....

What I don't remember was if he used a drill or an impact wrench.

Anyone advise me of the correct tool to use, and what not to do, please? I would much rather travel to/from track days on my road tyres and change them at the track.

Impact.

When tightening them up don't hold the impact gun on them for too long - just buzz them on slightly then use a torque wrench to nip them up.
