I'll be there in my beat up old RX7. Looking forward to getting back out on track.

I'm going with a couple of friends. One in a track e36 M3 and the other in a 350Z.

What an evening! My first track day at brands in the track car! Loved that r32! Was very suprised how good the old rx7 was too. Is that a rotary in that shape?

Thanks for the comments on the rx7. It's a bit of an old dog but slowly improving. Started off as a £500 non runner. It's cost about £3000 now, so a cheap track slag. It gets driven with very little mechanical sympathy. It's got a stock single turbo rotary under the bonnet which is about 230bhp, I've decided it needs another 100bhp to give it a bit more punch.

Lurch did you rip a tyre off your 306, as it looked like it when you where limping back to the pits?

Great evening good selection of cars and a really good crowd, were there any black flags Sam ?
When it rained track went slippery, probably the amount of rubber left by F3 GT at the weekend.
Have fun on the `ring Sam please don't bin it!

Nice, seemed at home on track! Is it road legal? Yeah, I wasn't driving it at the time but somehow it ripped a slick that I had only just bought with about 5mm left. Couldn't believe how much grip there was when it was dry and how slippery it was when wet, literally like driving on ice with the road tyres on.

Road legal is a bit of a loose term now. But yes I drove it to Brands, it's lost all its creature comforts. It has solid suspension bushes and drivetrain mounts and is completely stripped. I'm looking for a trailer now as it's not a nice place to be on the road. Plus then I'll start running slicks. I wrote a build thread on the car if you want to read that http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I'm thinking of selling my road car at the moment and just having a track prepped car. As it's so much more fun than being stuck behind dithering Sunday drivers on the road.

I thought your 306 might have had an trip onto the grass. Did it rip the tyre side wall then or did the tyre just leave the rim.

As for the Rx7, add a light dust of rain + Passenger ride. Most fun I have had as a passenger for a long while. Nice too see Paddock while spinning.

I was hiding in the yellow M3, after trying to sort out dam harnesses for about 45 mins !

Great fun, next stop Spa !

Same as mine, feels like I need a bra on when driving it on the road. Well I'm not 100% sure it didn't go off track as I wasn't driving at the time but the person driving said he didn't and it just split down the side. Just one of those things I guess. The rest were fine. Just read your build thread, great read. Nice little track car you've got!

Thanks for comments about the wifesmile it makes 440 @ hubs, makes it lots of fun in wet or dry, not as quick as modern cars but so much fun as its always moving around!

Would absolutely love to see the video if you'd be good enough to share itsmile

Cheers, wasn't pushing it too much as it was the first time with an LSD and a few other mod's and it still needs a bit of work. There's a few shots of you in the videos. I do love them GTR's, I've had a Nissan 200sx s14a and a Toyota Supra TT6 MK4 and that skyline would be next on the list I think, or a monaro...

Yeah I've got slicks because there actually cheaper part warn than part warn road tyres and a lot cheaper than r888's.
