As above, I've done two in my stock Mx5 M2.5 used them to get a feel of what needs doing.
Getting a roll bar, and a bucket seat fitted this week (stock seat are useless!).
I got some Yellow stuff pads and super blue fluid (and braided lines).
TBH at Brands stock brakes were/are fine but I was a bit apprehensive for Snetterton.
Tyre- provided your current ones are safe, they should be fine. No need to go uber grippy.
After that, work to your driving - maximise your stock stuff if its not knackered.
I will be getting some Gaz Golds are some point, although my stock blisteins are ok once you learn to drive with rolling and pitching of the set-up.
