i have about 8 hours of track time on these now on my M3, on for road use as well (weekend car) and overall impressed, only had dry and light dampness and have been good in both. Took about half an hour to get them scrubbed in on track i would say. the 200 mile drive to circuit didnt get them ready.

Be very careful in the wet on the road with the RSR's, had a few squeaky bum moments in the past.

As a guide when scrubbed in they take one full lap of the ring to get up to temp, then are epic for 2 laps and on the 4th go off.

Good tyres, took a few hundred mile to scrub in. Heated up well on the 34 giving consistent grip through out a session on track. Will be fine on the raod- just be carefull in heavy rain, not fantastic.

I have run them for over a year on my car. They have been fine in the rain on road. They are great in the wet on track. I really like them and I like the way Federal haven't been tempted to jack up the price. As above, they do go off when over heated but no worse than others. Recommended.

Try some Peter worth a punt, better than R888 `s in the rain .I have heard the R888`s are now banned for road use.

Had a some wet drives this week in them, i can confirm, they are not a wet tyre... even slow roundabouts they dont just slide they totally let go.

Triple 8s are good in the wet but their R1Rs are even better!

to clarify OP, are you using these as a track tyre or a fast road tyre?
For a daily over winter... personally i wouldnt. Then again i used my car as a daily for 18 months but i had a summer set, winter set and a track set. So when i say not a good wet tyre i am comparing with a road tyre.

I was thinking of using them in the summer and the occasional trackday

Round Curborough they were stunning in the dry, ok in heavy rain and quite good once it had stopped raining but still wet.

If purposefully got the back end out in the heavy rain then no way I could catch it, but then no weight in t back+3 of the tvr doesn't help.

Seem ok on the road but never drive like a numpty in the wet anyway.

A friend of mine uses them on his RS Megane and the grip in both dry and damp is great. However the do go off after 10 or so laps.

'Banned' by whom? I'm confident that they aren't, so you needn't worry.

Just wanted to say a massive thanks for linking the prices of these tyres!

I just bought a set of 4 235/45/17's for less than £340 deliveredsmile

I paid over £600 for my last set frown

Good tyres, last well and at this price are streets ahead of any other..
And they're more than quick enough - doing 54 sec laps of brands Indy in a road car!

Thank you again!!!! smile

I undrestand that certain tyres will be banned next year some time, not due to performance in the wet or any thing sensible like that but because of noise.

Seems daft, my exhaust is around 116dB at mid revs but if I put tyres on that produce more than a mid 70'sdB level then they are to be banned?

Market a set of tyres that have grip levels so poor as to be dangerous then that is OK but make noise and they will be banned, EU has gone mad!!

I've never noticed an increase in noise with Triple 8s.
