Does this mean the next time Alfred books a track-day on my behalf i wont be able to attend?
The advice from the legal bods is that the drivers contract should be directly with the organiser. If it's booked online in someone elses name (a friend/colleague/relative) then it's not ideal, but there is an understanding between the parties involved. Not sure this would help in court, but likely to be significantly easier than if you sell the place to a random stranger on the interweb. If a stranger takes a track day booking off you (whether in return for payment or not) you become the booking agent for that track day. In the event of any legal dispute the booking agent would need to be involved and should have PLI cover to protect themselves from that eventuality.
In summary, don't book events on behalf of a mate - get them to book directly.
