I'm planning a trip to Spa for the first time next year.

I've done a few UK track days although still relatively new to the scene and always fancied giving Spa a go.

I'm after open pit lane, Spring 2014, one or two days on track. I drive a DC2 Type R (plan is to move to a Caterham but it won't be next year).

My questions are:

1. Who would anyone recommend to go with in terms of the track day organiser?

2. Are there any 'organise it all', eg ferry/accommodation/track dayitself packages that anyone would recommend over sorting out the itinerary myself?

No doubt this has been discussed at length on another thread, so if it has, a point in the right direction to this would be equally much appreciated.

Cheers

Spa is great!! Aim for two days back to back. Expensive yes but worth it based on the travelling time and costs.

I've been twice. August with bookatrack both times. I might go next summer again.

Make sure you take gear for weather extremes. My first time was mega rain non-stop. My second time it was crazy hot.

It's easy to plan. I do euro tunnel and a local hotel.

If you want uk organisers in Spring you have

Bookatrack
Circuits Days
MLR (May)
Goldtrack (maybe)

Prices seems to be much the same at about £300 Spring or Autumn, although BaT and Go,dtrack do tend to be a bit ore pricey and maybe have less cars booked on.

There are also a number of Euro organisers, pm me if you want details, and Curbstone who do £500+ and packages for £800+

As for hotels and stuff, if you want a quick visit you can go over on the Chunnel the day before, and return the night of the trAckday easily. spa closes at 6pm and you can be at Calais for the 9.50pm+ Chunnel trains and with the hour back I can be home in Herts by 11.00pm. Cost can be £50 return for a day trip but goes up if you stay two nights quite a bit.

Many hotels but easiest is the Spa Radisson (town centre Spa) which tends to be about £120/night/twin room, but lots of guest houses and others in and out of town.

Travel to Spa from Calais is 3 hours non stop or up to 4.5 hours with trailer and stop. Can be busy round Brussels ring road.

Enjoy, it is a fabulous place.

I went with RMA and they were great but expensive.

Spa is the best circuit in Europe. No question. Full Stop.

I would have to suggest RSR Spa,lots of dates with open pit lane format. Hotel wise,La Source-you couldn't get much closer.Check the circuit de spa francorchamps web site, lots of info on hotels, the area etc etc.Really would suggest a bit of instruction, easy circuit to learn but does hold some secrets.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/10.gif

The casino is worth a shout for a drink in the evening just for the bar maids smile

I like Le Relais de Pommard, the rooms are a bit quirky, but its close to the track, the food is alright and its not owned by Bernie, what more could you want. The pizza place at the top of the hill is good too, well it is for feeding a hungry race team anyways. Have Fun.

I heard he had his fingers in it, could be wrong. I also thought the walloonians where only in the north.

It is a common belief but entirely paid for by the local government,€17,000,000 worth. It was Bernies suggestion that something be built though. Not much choice close by for the sponsors.

Does the Radisson Blu carpark have (secure) room for a car on a trailer?

RB Palace or RB Balmoral?

I doubt you'd get into the underground carpark at the RB Palace with a trailer. Don't know about the other.
