Brands Hatch Indy - 21st December

Indeed I was.
Blue sky, sunny and very, very slippery.
Be careful out there tomorrow as I guess it be similar to an ice rink again. In true Team Sweden stylie I managed to avoid 'falling off' or spinning until the very end when I lost the back end coming out of Clearways and spun 360 degrees. Oooops - no damage; just to my pride !!!
Enjoy.....

Blimey...what a day...did around 112 miles on track... there were a few red flags and a couple of knobs as usual, but overall, fantastic....rain is a great leveller!
MG was pretty good overall...finding grip when the wheels were anything less than pointing straight ahead was difficult, but seemed to hold it's own for an old shi$$er!!!
Daz's MX-5 was hilarious...no grip and sideways at every hint of throttle in the bends.
Hope the guy in the Audi is ok after his tumble!
Roll on 2014.

I was there in the E55,only went to see how the car handled after a suspension overhaul. As it was only £89 it was worth going just to sort the car out ready for next year.Fitted a set of fed 595 RS-R,s an they were really good in the wet, better than the 888,s.May be a different storey in the dry though.
I was there on Saturday in my black Westfield Zetec turbo - certainly not suited to the conditions, but it was fun all the same.
Those slippery conditions really level everyone don't they. That white/cream BMW Mini was really flying. I was impressed with how some of the standard looking FWD hatches were doing... green Puma and silver Clio spring to mind, even a young chap in a new 1.2L blue Fiesta. You all seemed to be able to just drive through and exit the corners so much faster than I could - following the Clio a few times, I was just left behind at Graham Hill Bend and at Clearways... you made it look easy and yet I was struggling with poor turn in, oversteer everywhere and then unable to get the power down. Well done, nice stuff.

Great day, some footage here from the Pitwall and the view of Graham Hill.
I was there in the Ludikriss Salon Eunos and found that to be a bit of a handfull with its meagre power, fair play to all those Caterham pilots!!
Had good fun once i found the grip levels and indeed what size my balls actually are. Bit of a squeeky one coming out of Paddock Hill ant a 360 out of GH but no harm dome. After that it was just "enjoy it, we aint breaking no records".
Big Lumps ZS180 was awesome out there. showing that front wheel drive was the car to be in. Excellent driving in the most parts, and good understanding of the different cars and abilities out there. Hope we all got home safe

Things are not always what they seem, with the newer hotter hatches.

I took my wife's 182 on a wet brands track when my Tiger Six was broken and I have to say that the R&D they put into the electronic stability system really shows. Decreased spin on every corner.
It only takes one wheel to lose grip (spin), for the other one on that axle to cry enought. Two tyres being better than one.

Mine (in that vid) is the earlier 172 version, and has no aids (except ABS).I took my wife's 182 on a wet brands track when my Tiger Six was broken and I have to say that the R&D they put into the electronic stability system really shows. Decreased spin on every corner.

Will pop some videos up later on of mine showing just how unstable it was at times.
Heres one of my father in law getting it wrong, it was his first every trackday, and first time in my car.
