For my 2005 STI PPP -
Discs
After having problems with several sets of cheaper discs developing hot spots, warping, etc I now always use Brembo brake discs. The blank discs are good but currently running the grooved version which I really like and see no reason to change. Not sure what makes Brembo's so much better than cheaper discs, maybe the high carbon content but definitely worth the money.
Pads
Performance Friction (I think they're called type Z). Absolutely excellent on both road and track, hot or cold, wet or dry. On my third set cos they do wear fairly quickly but I honestly can't praise them enough.
Fluid
Motul RBF600. Needs to be changed every year but so far the only brake fluid I've had that hasn't overheated on hot track days.
brake lines
I've recently fitted some HEL braided brake lines, a full set for £50 seemed like a no-brainer but haven't had the car out on track since fitting them so can't really comment.
Refurbishments, etc
Godspeed Brakes in Wales (google will help locate their details) are awesome if you need any advice, refurbs, repairs, etc. Really quick turn-around and excellent service when I recently snapped a bleed nipple and then made it worse by trying to drill it out myself!
hope that helps
