best route out to the nordshleife

nicest driving roads, things to do on the way, best bits of non limited autobahn, unmissable roads ect previously ive just followed the sat nav has anyone seen anything on the way out there that shouldnt be missed??

If you take the scenic route you don't get on the Autobahn basically.

The routes i take are always pretty much the same through Belgium. The E40 between Brussels and Liege is pretty fast and dead straight most of the way.

This route is pretty direct but more scenic and goes past Spa Francorchamps and through some very nice scenic and fun roads in the Eifel: https://goo.gl/maps/uGU1U

This route is a little less direct but about the same time and takes you on some sections of autobahn with a few fun twisty roads between the A1 and the Nurburgring: https://goo.gl/maps/l3Q3U

E40 to liege, e42 to prum, 410 to kelberg and 257 to the ring. Or at liege go via eupen and monschau along the 258 to the ring but don't kill your car going to fast along the tank road.

Neither of these are un restricted bits of autobahn though.

Bloody tank road, early last year it looked almost closed to traffic. Not doing it anymore. Going Prum way in May this time.
