Hi all,

Can anyone recommend any track day apps which work on iOS? There seem to be quite a few out there. I'm just interested in data logging through the day which I can take a look at afterwards.

Thanks,
Nick

Or a lot more depending on the circuit.

That's a limitation of the phone GPS rather than software. Pair it with a Garmin GLO or something similar and you will get 10hz on Harrys.

Looks like the GLO doesn't work so well with iOS :-/ The XGPS160 looks the best bet for 10hz logging on iOS.

Erm - no. It will interpolate data between sampling points so it is actually nothing like that far our for timing. The accuracy of GPS itself is actually much more of a factor if you are only interested in lap times (which is why pro timing gear often still uses beacons). It is in corner speed accuracy that a low sampling rate has the potential for the most divergence, however this doesn't change the simple fact that the sample rate is not actually a function of the software, but instead of the device (and external devices are supported). If you acquire a VBox Sport you can have 20Hz sampling of GPS data in the lap timer app. Alternatively, for less money 10Hz can be had from the XGPS160 and 5Hz from the XGPS150.
