Hi

I looking to book 2-3 track days this year at different circuits but each has different dB(A) limits.

I have a 2013 Nissan 370Z and no matter where I look I can't find out what it's dB(A) is.

Are there any standard figures for different standard cars anywhere?

I have absolutely no idea what dB(A) my cars are so it makes it very difficult to book anything.

I'd really appreciate any guidance.

Many thanks.

I am very doubtful a car with a standard exhaust would breach 95dB. If you have a track close to you, they are usually happy to sound check your car for free when track days are on the schedule.

You could get a clue how loud it is with a Db app on your phone. Thread yesterday with suggested several apps I think. Check at 2/3 max revs, 45deg angle from tail pipe and 1m away. I doubt a standard exhaust will be anywhere near 95Db.

Stock, you'll be fine - it's only if you've modded the exhaust you'll need to worry.

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like I should be ok.

I'm looking at doing one with a 90 dB(A) limit so that's the one I'm worried about.

App ... phone??? My phone makes/takes calls only and is 10 years old!! No chance of it measuring dB(A) I'm afraid!

In that case make a call while someone holds the revs at around 5k whilst you stand 1mtr away from the back of the car, if you can still hear the call, it should be fine.
Other than that, dont worry, it will be within 90 db. Have fun.

Try to remmeber to switch off any anti-lag system when doing noise tests. The organsisers really, really don't like customers to set fire to their noise tester (both the device and the mug holding it)...... ;-)
