MOST SUITABLE 4x4

What new (or recent used) 4x4 would people recommend as most suitable for towing a Brian James Race Transporter 6 race trailer, which may some times be loaded to its full gross capacity of 3,500kg. I am intending to travel to various UK and EU tracks as well as tow to Spain from time to time. I may also camp with the trailer in tow at campsites which could have muddy/slippery ground.
Ideally the 4x4 will be able to easily tow the trailer as well as be a comfortable and engaging drive when not towing.

Most of the fellas I know that tow the big transporters, usually bjt motorshuttles or the newer race transporters with 4x4s use disco 4 diesels, pal just sold his at 200k commercial towing miles no big issues.
I use an older shogun 3200 d on occasion for towing a big motorshuttle often at 3.5t as does a pal of mine ( he's done 200k towing miles no issues at all & not done yet) im at low 120k bit wil prob take it up to 250k if it will make it, ok are much down on power vs the disco4s but at 4k vs 40k its whole lot less dosh.

I have test driven the new RRS SDV8 ok but almost to cosseting ride but the V8 had more character and performance.
I was thinking about the Diesel S V8 Cayenne but they do not have low ratio boxes any more.
I think the Shogun except mabe the V8 Desel may be lacking perfomance when not towing also understand the auto box is slow to pullaway.
I want to test drive a Toureg the V8 Desel has good perfomance and pulling power. Only the Escape has the low ratio transfer box.
From experience will I need low ration transfer box for towing heavy trailer on slippery surfaces?

I tow a Brian James TT tri axle behind a RR sport, it will tow 3.5t no problem but the trailer makes the car vibrate as if the wheels are out of balance, this happens at 55mph then about 70mph it's really annoying! I've spoken to Brian James and it only happens on Range Rovers! I've also towed the same trailer on a Cayenne Turbo with no problem. I don't know what wheels your trailer will have but be careful!
