Business track day stuff
Discussion
so work have asked me to sort out some track day bits for a party they have, as they know i seem to do track days a bit...
I have a group of 7 who need to do track day "stuff" maybe an experience maybe in their cars.
The question is has anyone done anything like this before and what can you recommend for them?

If I was presented with that I'd phone Book a Track and Motorsport events and see about running something possibly alongside their own scheduled days, or private.
BaT because you might be able to take advantage of their caterhams. MSE because I suspect they'll be cheaper for a private event on an airfield. Depends what you want etc.

I have done many track days as corporate hospitality, we have always just joined another track day already being run, I normally book a couple of instructors to be dedicated to our group for the day.
Head up to the circuit the evening before, if in the summer do a circuit walk and talk about the lines and braking points, this gets everyone in track mode and builds the anticipation then head to the hotel for meal and beer and to talk about the upcoming day then do the day, have a wash up after, preferably another meal/nights stay and a chance for every one to have a laugh about being slow or getting a corner wrong and then head off home.
Great way of turning a customer into a mate with shared experiences to cement a long lasting business relationship.

I'd have said that but if there is a requirement to drive their own cars, I'm not sure Palmersport would accommodate that in one of their experience days.
Probably not! He did say 'maybe' use their own cars. Admittedly I was thinking organising a business thing where people using own cars might be a can of worms from a liability POV, perhaps not.Any of the TDO's can do a group discount in their own cars and get you some track hire cars to play with too. Easy. The more money you throw at them the more fancy the package can get. Alternatively get hammered and go to 'Secrets' girly bar with the other companies doing 'team bonding' activities!
Where are you located?
I have done the same with work on a budget and we took a group of 8 clients for a track day.
Motorsport events sorted it all out we had a good day with, 2 instructors, two cars (Elise) plus I took my evo to give them passenger rides while they waited to get their next drive with an instructor.
Plus we took them for a nice lunch at a country pub close to the track to break things up at lunch.
MSE will you give you the most cost effective option, Palmer at Bedford is the opposite end of the scale and very good if your company has the budget for it!
