I'm after some guidance please. I'm proposing to sign up for a Bedford track day in April. First one for me. I'll be driving an Elise S1, which is standard save for sports exhaust and K&N filter. The Elise is new to me, so I don't know what sports exhaust is fitted.

Maximum permitted db at Bedford is 101, but I don't know if my Elise will get through the test. I've tried a couple of db apps. One said "OK"' the other said "no"!

I'm hoping other Elise owners with a similar set up can guide? I know it's dependent on the specific exhaust and induction system, but any general guidance or experience would be very welcome!

The cars relatively quiet at low RPM, but a little more fruity at the top end!

Cheers.

You should be fine - I did my first day there in January.

Mines an S2 but fitted with TRD induction and a 2Ubular exhaust and sailed through the static test.

Others there were a lot louder than mine and didn't trigger the noise warning boards.

Or maybe we weren't trying hard enough ;-)

You can take your car to the circuit prior to your next trackday there and they will noise test your car for free, no appointment required but it would be good if you rang and let them know you were on your way down.
hth.

I have seen no end of Elise's and Exiges there and many have been modified so unless your car is embarrassingly noisy I think you'll be OK. I think many garages have a decent db meter so maybe just phone your local and ask.
