Hi all,

Long time lurker on PH, just acquired a BMW 130i for the sole purpose of having fun!

Booked my first ever UK track day for Bedford on the 29th March and wondered if anyone else from here was going as I'd not seen another topic regarding it...? Been to the Nurburgring 5 times now, so clocked up a few "track" miles now.

Keeping the car pretty standard for the first day. Although have swapped to Michelin non run flats now, i'll see how it performs on the day and take it from there, don't want to go too mad as I'll use it for the weekend blasts as well.

I have just booked on. Not been there for a few years so thought I would have a go again. In a black e36 M3 that has had some track preparation.

Great - Will keep a look out for you, just trying to get the car sorted for the 29th now!

On the lookout for a set of track wheels!

Would love to get a passenger lap with you just to see how an old 3.0 compares to a new BMW 3.0l.

Yeah sure - we'll compare both, I've never been in an E36 M3 either!

Considering signing up for this, would be my first trackday. Forecast at the moment seems to be dry. Fate, tempted.

Just get it booked man. Wet is just as much fun as the dry. In fact you learm more about the car in the wet than the dry.

I took the SZ round Bedford last summer:

It will be out again later in the year, but i've had a set of Eibach ARB's fitted to the 145 and am keen to try them out.

Look forward to meeting you all and perhaps blagging the odd passenger ride?

Excellent stuff. Had a go around Bedford a few years ago in a Clio 172. I love the way the rear comes round on them under braking and then you can just plant the power. May grab a passenger ride with you if thats OK.

More than happy to take people out in the M3

Looks like its shaping up to be a good day! A few passenger laps will go down well to see the correct lines etc...

I am going to put my track wheels (Nankang NS2R- new and road legal) on before I leave on Sat morning, is it worthwhile bringing my road wheels as well in the back?

where could I leave all my stuff if I do, don't want to take unsecured items in the car - Going to bring a jack, basic tool kit, breaker bar and oil with me. May not need all that if I leave my road wheels at home.... Do you think its overkil for my first trackday?

Just bring the road wheels. You will have to be going some to make a new set of tyres down to the point where they are not Road legal. I did about 220 miles on the last track day on Track orientated tyres and they were still legal at the end of the day.

As for the other stuff. Sounds about right to bring with you. I often leave stuff in a garage and never had any problems. If there are a few of us there we can keep an eye on each others stuff.

Yep, will just leave the other wheels at home then. Will probably leave the jack at home as well and bring along a small tool kit and fluids.

Yep, seems to be a few of us so we can park up in the same area and leave things there...:thumb:

Sounds fair enough, I checked with MSV about places to store items, and they said we can speak to someone on the day about it - so there's that option too.
