I'm heading down to the Sunday Service and have a track session booked, and I would like to ask a couple of things. I've read through all the docs and stuff, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

The car is in good nick, with decent tyres. Is there anything I need to do to my car other than tape the lights and attach the toing eye?

What kind of tape do you use to tape up the lights?

Is there anything else I need to know?

I have aleady taken out insurance for it, is this something most people do or don't do?

Remove anything loose in the car. Take all top up fluids including a drink for yourself. Dont drive with wet shoes. Jack, foot pump tools etc. Crash helmet. Stay calm and enjoy.

I've done probably a dozen track days in the last 12 months, never needed to tape the lights so unless they specifically ask you to do that on the day I wouldn't bother. If they've mentioned it in the docs then bring some electrical tape just in case. Have to admit that I probably wouldn't have bothered with insurance, especially on a track like Silverstone with big runoffs.

Other than that, everything else you need to know is here:
