I've always driven my cars ('71 and '67 Alfas) to track days and managed to get home. A couple of times I've had to limp back admittedly. But recently I'm starting to wonder if I'm tempting fate.

These track days are starting to get further and further away. Should I be trailering them? Do you?

If it struggles to get there, or use on track causes enough "damage" to prevent it getting home - should you really be using it on a track at all ?

Out of curiosity - if you break down on track and get towed to the paddock, do the recovery companies happily recover the vehicle or is there a get-out clause if they know or suspect you've been thrashing the living daylights out of it on track?

A friend of mine his Integra went bang on a track day at Oulton and the AA came all the way to the grass verge on track to get his car back home smile so i guess yes to your answer smile

Only had to do this once and it was not a problem.

Not as simple as that. Last year a distributor failed (nice jet of flame out the back) and before that the valve seats collapsed.

Even though the engine is now fully rebuilt, I'm always wary of unforeseen problems or possible collisions.

I was recovered from Castle Combe paddock when a brake line failed on my first ever track day - I did a total of three laps including sighting. The AA didn't blink, flat bed back to London using my brother's cover via his bank account - Result!

For me, getting up early and driving to the circuit has always been part of the fun.
I had to use the RAC once to come and get me home from Cadwell Park and it was not an issue at all.
