Yes, a lot.

One is a track focused tyre and a decent reputation.

Whereas, the other isn't...

Is it for road or track use?

For road I would go for Michelin Pilot Super Sports and for track, Toyo 888's.

Given the size you require (888's not available) and for track use I would go for Yoko AD08R's

Toyo T1-r's should be avoided at all costs imo.

For future reference I run 215/45/17 on my '99 Impreza, more selection than the 40 section, they do not rub anywhere and as a bonus the speedo read closer to true.

So what do you use on your Evo that I presume is circa at least 300 bhp?

I use Eagle f1's on road, part worn Yoko AO48's on track. Also have a set of wet cut slicks.

It's really easy to find great bargains on the owners club forums, some people sell their r888's etc with 3mm+ of tread left :S

I'm a bit confused here. You say you use Eagle F1's for the road, which incidently I do as well, but have hinted at AD08's costing a fortune. The last time I looked they wern't much more than the F1's.

I sgree though you can pick up some good bargains, but the op didn't indicate that was his priority.

AD08r's are £189 per corner on camskill for a 235/40/18, eagle f1 asy 2's are £116. Massive difference IMO.

Federal 595 RSR awesome tyre for track work especially dry weather. Bridgestone RE070 also good all weather track tyre. Avoid Toyo T1R for track work.
